Janet Lynn Reder, 65, of Farmington, died peacefully on Friday morning (November 29, 2019). Janet was born and raised in Waterbury where she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. After high school she worked in Central Supply at Waterbury Hospital eventually becoming the department head. She graduated from nursing school at age 27 in Rocky Hill and worked in many different areas as a nurse throughout Connecticut. She had assignments in a prison, Southbury training school and private duty, as well as establishing a nursing care business. Janet went back to college in Florida to obtain a second degree. An avid animal lover, in her younger years she raised and bred horses, made and fired Ceramics in a kiln and taught ceramic classes. Janet had a Heart of Gold, was exceptionally intelligent and sweet as can be. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two sisters: Nancy Reder of Bristol, and Donna Conner of Windsor; two nieces and a nephew: Jessica Guarnieri, Amy Paradis, and Frederick Conner; two great-nieces, and one great-nephew. Calling hours for family and friends will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol, on Wednesday (December 4, 2019) from 6 until the start of a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
