Ida G. Perera

February 23, 1925 ~ January 9, 2021 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Tribute

Ida (Graziano) Perera, 95, of Bristol passed away at home on Saturday January 9th 2021. Ida was a lifelong Bristol resident, except for a short stint in New York City modeling furs during her early years. While in New York she met her husband, Armando, and the two returned to Bristol where they started a family. Ida loved to regale her family with stories of the past that included big band dances at Lake Compounce, trips to the Palace Theater in Waterbury, and tales from her time modeling in New York City. She continued to do things they had enjoyed together like bowling at the old Bristol Ten Pin and a weekly golf league at Westwoods in Farmington. Up until her last days Ida was known for her constant pursuit of knowledge and awareness of current events and she would always be the first to ask what you thought or tell you the latest up and coming news, which she somehow always knew first. Her favorite song, Che Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be) is the way she lived her life. Ida was predeceased by her husband and soulmate Armando, brother Louis Graziano and beloved son-in-law Michael Venceslau. She leaves 3 children, Brenda Austin of Windsor, Roberta Venceslau of Colchester and Armand Perera of Avon. In addition 2 grandchildren Brianna Maurice and husband Rob of Wolcott and Geoffrey Doble Jr. of Manchester and her great granddaughter Kaitlyn Doble of Manchester. Ida also had one nephew Brian Graziano. She also leaves a very close friend and caregiver Michelle Marshall. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT is honored to serve the family and all services are private.
