Henryka (Kalwara) Tarwacka Wieckowski, 94, of Bristol, widow of Lech Wieckowski, died on Thursday (September 9, 2021) at New Britain General Hospital.
Henryka was born on May 14, 1927 in Poland and was a daughter of the late Konstanty and Aleksandra (Budna) Kalwara. She was raised in Poland and came to the United States in 1966. She worked for Stanley Plating for 25 years before retiring in 1991 and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol. She enjoyed cooking and knitting and was a member of the Bristol Senior Center.
Henryka is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Irena and Antoni Porowski of Bristol; three grandchildren: Teresa Porowski, Lisa Matkowski, and Andrew Porowski; six great-grandchildren: Jacob, Audra, and Eden Porowski, Victoria, Nicholas, and Ryan Matkowski; her step-son: Ryszard Wieckowski and wife, Ewa, of Burlington; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers: Edward, Marian, and Zygmunt Kalwara; and two sisters: Stasia Gerwatowski and Helen Zega.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (September 14, 2021) at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, on Tuesday between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
