Francis R. Boilard, 90, of Bristol, beloved husband of Pauline (Dupont) Boilard, died on Sunday (June 13, 2021) at Bristol Hospital. Francis was born in Bristol on March 29, 1931 and was one of five children of the late Emile and Maria (Riquier) Boilard.
A lifelong Bristol resident, he served three years in the Connecticut Army National Guard. He enjoyed a career with Northeast Utilities as a lineman and supervisor before retiring and was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish attending St. Ann Church.
He enjoyed caring for his yard and his home.
In addition to his wife of 69 years who he met one night at a square dance, Francis is survived by five children: David Boilard and wife, Sue of Terryville, Therese Poirier and husband, Rene of Bristol, Denis Boilard and wife, Susan of Florida, Elaine Wheeler and husband, Jim of Illinois, and Edmund Boilard and wife, Jacqueline of Virginia; his four siblings: Isabelle Boilard, Bertha Giovanelli, Norman Boilard and wife, Antoinette all of Bristol, and Richard Boilard and wife, Diane of Florida; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law: Ugo Giovanelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (June 18, 2021) at 10 AM at St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Parish, 180 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010.
