My sister in law, who lost her husband 5 years ago, recently passed away unexpectedly, leaving four children to mourn her loss. We contacted Funk Funeral Home We explained the situation and they were genuinely sympathetic and assisted us every step of the way. The entire staff was professional, kind and caring, especially with her children. I have planned services for other family members in the past and have had good experiences, but I can tell you that the Funk Funeral Home staff goes above and beyond. After the services, they gave us a portrait of my sister in law that was displayed next to her casket, a memory candle with her picture on it and flash drives for each of her children with the slide show that they created with pictures that we sent to them. These were very nice added touches that I have not received from other funeral homes and they will be very much appreciated by her children. Thank you Chris and the entire staff for assisting us during an extremely difficult time. We greatly appreciate all that you did.

To the Funk Funeral Home family and staff...you recently prepared the final arrangements for my grandmother .... As you can imagine, it was a difficult time for my family. It hit me particularly hard because I had moved to Illinois and had not seen her since Christmas 2019 because of the pandemic. I saw her health decline through video chats until she didn’t even know me. She was no longer my grandma. When I saw her again .... that final time, I cried. Not just because she is gone and I will miss her, but because you gave me my grandma back. She was beautiful. She looked to me like she did years ago before my grandfather passed. All of your services were accomplished and exceeded all of our expectations. Your staff showed compassion and professionalism at a very high level. The families of the deceased expect everything to be detailed and organized.

For the family gatherings and at the gravesite, very few words are necessary to accomplish the heart rendering task. Everyone of your staff conveyed reference and attention to the needs of the family and friends of the deceased.

I retired from the Navy in 1988. This was my first time attending the military colors and TAPS at the final resting area. The Army color guards executed the honor and dignity with military bearing and excellence. Our sincere thanks to the those soldiers and veterans that participated in the burial ceremony!

Ron, Chris, Bob and Staff: When someone wishes to offer their gratitude, oftentimes it is said that words can not express what you have done for us. So, let me not proclaim words but state our feelings for the service that was provided most recently for our mother. Starting with the appointment to review the necessary arrangements to be made to the burial, we were touched by the professional, kind and caring approach in our time of grief. Thoughtful suggestions were made from newspaper announcements, dress, floral arrangements, casket selection and more. Mom looked beautiful in her eternal sleep. Her surroundings were soft colored and soothing, a stark contrast to other funerals. Your constant attention to our emotional state and all the details were truly heartfelt. We sobbed from our loss, but were uplifted by all that you did for Mom and us. Some people who know that we are neighbors might suspect that some special considerations was given. Although we feel that there is some truth in that, we know that the compassion, dignity and respect provided by one and all is the foundation of your service. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers that in our darkest hour you showed us the light. Forever grateful,
