Russell Modeen, seems odd just saying it he was and always will be Pop. He came in to my life as a young man when I came to marry his daughter, he was not impressed. Pop inspired me to be a better man and it is hard to impress a man that started sweeping floors to being the plant boss, but I tried. I loved him because he did not discourage but encourage and he was a loving Grandfather to his grandchildren. I Have missed his counsel and feel somewhat more lost because I can't email or IM. God Speed Pop...Give Muz a hug for me.

I had the pleasure of working with Russ at Bristol Federal Savings Bank. I was an eighteen year old kid at the time an I really enjoyed working with him. He was one of the people I enjoyed seeing each day.
I have remembered you all these years, Glad to have known you, you were someone special. You will be missed!

I would like to express my heartfelt sadness and condolences to the entire Modeen family. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mr Modeen several years ago through his wonderful son, Roy. Immediately upon being introduced to him I felt I was in the presence of the last of a dying breed; a true gentleman. He always carried himself with extreme dignity and class. Everything Russ did was first class all the way, as his son would often say. He was a terrific role model for all those fortunate enough to have been given some of his fatherly advice. I for one will forever be both changed and enlightened by our last few conversations. It was then that I realized what an incredible man he was. I also want to say, "Nice job,Joan". You made it possible for Russ to maintain his dignity during the time he needed it most. That is a very hard role to fill and you really impressed me and showed me what love and dedication mean. As hard as it to be without him we all know he joins Nancy and Roy and all his other family who were there with open arms to welcome him, just as he will do for all of you one day. Try and make the most of those days in between that time, enjoy your life and live in his memory. Diane K.

I remember how my Uncle Russ made me giggle as a child and laugh out loud as an adult. Always a hug, kiss, and a big grin when I saw him both at beginning and end of visit! I loved to listen to stories my dad Roger and Russ would remenise about and the laughter that always resulted. he brought happiness everywhere he went. May you rest in peace and find laughter in your eternal home. I am glad we were able to say I love you to each other. I will miss you but never forget you.
