Edwina M. Martin

Edwina “Dixie” Martin, 79, of Bristol, wife of Ronald Martin, died at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday (November 15, 2017). Dixie was born in St. Anne de Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada on July 29, 1938 and was a daughter of the late Theodule and Azilda (Parent) Martin. In addition to her beloved husband, Dixie is survived by two daughters: Debra and her husband Steven Pelletier of Barkhamsted, Susan Martin of Bristol; one son-in-law: Scott Allen of Meriden; four brothers: Robert and his wife Agathe Martin of FL, Frank and Marie-Mai Martin of Bristol, Paul and Ghislaine Martin of Farmington, Richard and Leslie Martin of Southington; five sisters: Donata and Normand Lavoie of Bristol, Gaetane and Germain Voisine of FL, Pierrette and Robert Roy of Bristol, Clauda and Edgar Lavertu of Bristol, Georgette and Dan Girard of FL; six grandchildren: Olivia and Isabella Allen, Joseph Pelletier, Emily, Jack and Alex DeNote; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dixie was predeceased by her daughter: Sandra Martin-Allen; and her brother: Larry Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday (November 17, 2017) at St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
