Charlotte J. Sturgeon

Charlotte (Johnson) Sturgeon, 77, of Bristol, beloved widow of the late Frank H. Sturgeon, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Bristol Hospital.

Charlotte was born in Bristol on July 20, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Harrigan) Johnson. However, she was lovingly raised by her uncle and aunt, Everett and Phyllis Johanson. Charlotte attended Bristol Schools and obtained her X-Ray Tech Certificate from Bristol Hospital.

In her leisure time, you could find Charlotte knitting, watching movies and television, shopping, and catching up on her social media with her tablet. She loved her dogs and spending time with children, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Group and liked playing bingo with her friends at The Pines, where she currently lived. She absolutely loved decorating for the holidays and more recently sharing it with staff and other residents. She enjoyed baking when she was younger.

She was part of the Patterson School Breakfast Group where she would meet with her former classmates and friends to reminisce and catch up on their lives. Charlotte loved to vacation in Kittery, Maine where she had gone since childhood and visited Nubble Light, her favorite lighthouse.

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters; Carol Piwonski and Ellen Sturgeon and her partner David Tedesco, all of Bristol. She also leaves behind her treasured grandsons; Josh Piwonski and Ryan Piwonski, both of Bristol. Charlotte was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Ron Piwonski.

Calling hours and a memorial gathering for Charlotte will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM concluding with a service by Karen Hale in the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
