Obituary for James M. Cook
James M. Cook, Jr., 93, of Bristol, died on Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at Bristol Hospital. Mr. Cook was born in Bristol on June 12, 1916 and was the son of the late James M. Cook, Sr. and Mercedes (Keyes) Cook. A lifelong Bristol resident, he was retired after a career with the Barnes Group. He enjoyed riding his Harleys and he toured the country on his bike after he retired. He was a fan of NASCAR and UCONN Women’s Basketball. Mr. Cook is survived by three sons, Barrie Cook, James M. Cook III and his wife, Evie Cook, and Carl Cook, all of Bristol; two daughters, Sue Cook and Shelley Hull of Bristol; four grandchildren, Troy, Robert, and James Cook IV, and Darcie Orlowski; three grandchildren; and two nephews, William and Thomas Cook. He was predeceased by his brother and sister in law, William and Florence Cook, and a son in law, Richard Hull. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (March 11, 2010) at 11 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.
