Obituary for Dorothy K. Comerford

Dorothy K. (Kirby) Comerford, 91, of Farmington, former Bristol resident, widow of John B. Comerford, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at home. Dorothy was born August 29, 1918 in Bristol and was a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Teevan) Kirby. A graduate of Bristol High School she was an avid reader her entire life. She will remembered for her devotion to her family and her very generous nature. Dorothy is survived by two sons: Jack Comerford and his partner Raymond W. Walton of Atherton, CA, and James Comerford and his wife Alane of Collinsville; two daughters and sons-in-law: Noreen and Steve Washburn of Farmington, and Sheila and Barry Faticoni of Burlington; nine grandchildren: Melissa Hatch, Courtney Ricard, Steven and Kelly Washburn, Kyle, Kaitlin, and Connor Faticoni, and Haylee and John Comerford; three great grandchildren: Logan and Ford Hatch, and Nola Ricard; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (March 3, 2010) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday between 5 and 8 PM.
